Cirro by AirSuite is celebrating a significant milestone, having been named Innovative Company of the Year at the 2024 RBC Innovation Awards in Northwestern Ontario.
“Thank you to RBC and the Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre, we wouldn’t be here without your community support,” said Josh Tinkler-Josephi of AirSuite, who accepted the award on behalf of the Cirro team.
This accolade comes during a transformative year for AirSuite, which secured a highly sought-after federal contract with the Air Services Directorate of Transport Canada. The company has doubled its workforce over the past 18 months to accommodate its expanding portfolio.
AirSuite has created lasting opportunities for talented professionals, establishing permanent roles for highly skilled software developers in Thunder Bay. Of its eight full-time developers, six are based locally, including a cybersecurity specialist.
“We’ve also significantly expanded our support team, welcoming newcomers to Canada and employing multilingual staff, including graduates from Lakehead University and Confederation College,” shared Doug Carlson, AirSuite’s Chief Operating Officer. “This enables us to offer Cirro in French and Spanish, broadening its accessibility.”
In tandem with this growth, the company expanded to a fully renovated 2,200-square-foot office in Thunder Bay, reinforcing its commitment to hiring locally and fostering community development.
